Peer Review Policy
All manuscripts submitted to IJAHEE undergo a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that:
- Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and
- Authors remain unaware of the reviewers’ identities.
Editorial Submissions
Members of the Editorial Board, including the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and Guest Editors, are permitted to submit manuscripts to IJAHEE. However, in such cases:
- They are recused from all editorial decision-making related to their own submission.
- Another qualified editor, unaffiliated with the authorship of the paper, is assigned to oversee the peer review process.
- Authors with any form of competing interest or connection to the journal must explicitly declare this during submission.
Initial Screening
Upon submission:
- The editor-in-chief assesses the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s scope and standards.
- Manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using the Turnitin software, with a maximum similarity threshold of 25%.
- Manuscripts exceeding this threshold or those falling outside the journal’s scope will be rejected at this stage, with prompt notification to the authors.
Peer Review Process
- Manuscripts that meet the initial criteria are sent to at least two independent reviewers.
- Reviewers assess the manuscript based on scientific rigour, originality, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the field.
- The editorial decision is guided by the reviewers’ recommendations:
- Acceptance (accept as it is or without any revisions)
- Minor revision
- Major revision
- Rejection
If the two reviewers provide conflicting recommendations, a third reviewer is consulted to assist the editorial board in making a balanced decision.
Timelines
IJAHEE is committed to ensuring a first decision within 4-8 weeks of submission. Authors will receive timely feedback and guidance based on the reviewers’ and editors’ evaluations.
